Description

The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra made two recordings of the Brandenburg Concertos of Johann Sebastian Bach. First of all, there was the well-known old Decca recording under the direction of Karl Müchinger, out of print as an LP for many years. Secondly, a new one for TACET with first-class soloists, not previously issued as an LP. On the other hand, it become famous as the first Surround recording in TACET Real Surround Sound. From now on in vinyl: the Brandenburg Concertos in TACET's warm tube sound on two and a half 180g LPs in a luxuriously designed linen box with a large-format supplementary booklet - just like in the old days. The remaining reverse side of the third LP contains more works of Johann Sebastian Bach.

3 reviews for 101 LP / Johann Sebastian Bach: Six Brandenburg Concertos

  1. Stereo – Sonderheft: Phono

Slag-free and structurally conscious rendition of the Brandenburg Concertos in a warm, fragrant tube sound.

  2. Audio

The audiophile may revel in the almost unbelievably warm, richly colored, and finely detailed soundscape, while the music lover delights in the carefree freshness yet sensitive playing of the chamber orchestra—and the excellent encores.

  3. hifi & records

(…) TACET has released the wonderfully sounding tapes on three 180-gram long-playing records, thereby fulfilling a wish for all audiophile music lovers who enjoy listening to vinyl yet don’t want their ears confined only to the yesterdays of music. Halfway new recordings on vinyl are rare and therefore to be welcomed. Such is the case here, which additionally delights with the D minor Partita as well as a little Mozart, performed by the Gaede Trio.
