Description

The string quartet offers countless possibilities of interplay between the different instruments. If you add a fifth person to the mix, in this case the viola player, Nobuko Imai, with the Auryn Quartet, then it not only gives the whole sound a comparatively orchestral quality but also considerably increases the methods at the composer's disposal. These are just two reasons why Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's combination of 2 violins, 2 violas and a cello have become so well-loved. In TACET Real Surround Sound the many ingenious, refined and playful themes, the whole inexhaustible richness of Mozart's ideas are realised even more clearly.

Mozart's string quintets bring great joy with the Auryn Quartet, especially in multi-channel sound.

Well, what can you say? Once again there is a recording of the 'Auryn Quartet', here together with the violist Nabuko Imai, and of course it is once again a non-plus-ultra. This is due to all components.

The two quintets that we can enjoy here, like the other string quintets by Wolfgang A. Mozart, were created in an environment in which others, such as Pleyel, also composed quintets. However, the publishers do not seem to have really honored this line-up compared to the quartet. Mozart had problems obtaining sufficient subscriptions for printing. When you hear these masterpieces today, which give all five voices their valuable parts, it is incomprehensible. The Auryn musicians, including the second violist, once again impress with their stupendous naturalness of sound. Her interpretation is completely relaxed and confident and yet brims with tension and delicacy. In this way, music can be told in a classic way and still captivate the listener. Even after more than 35 years of playing together, the Auryns show no signs of fatigue, on the contrary. The amulet that gave it its name brought good luck.

Tacet's recording technology makes it possible to enjoy these stirring interpretations in a warm and coherent sound that is illuminated down to the smallest detail.

    In the land of smiles

(…) The recording is not only artistically outstanding, the sound is also amazing: Andreas Spreer, boss and sound engineer of the audiophile label TACET, was at the controls himself. (…)
