The violist Hartmut Lindemann, who appeared seemingly out of nowhere at TACET five years ago, has meanwhile set musical and technical benchmarks for his instrument with his recordings … time and again he succeeds in captivating the listener through the works themselves. His fantastic viola playing and his solidly grounded musicianship almost recede into the background as self-evident qualities.
